This series uses material from the Great Schools of Dune trilogy, by Brian Herbert and Kevin J
Scenario
Two Harkonnen sisters battle forces that threaten the future of humanity and found the legendary sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit. Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about.
A prequel to the original Dune, it chronicles how the Sisterhood of Rossak evolved into the Bene Gesserit
Anderson. The incident with Valya Harkonnen using the voice is from a so-called “Mentats of Dune.” All three books intertwine the development of the Sisterhood, the Mentats, the Navigators, and the Suk Doctors.

I’ve read and watched a lot of fantasy/sdi-fi in my life and I think I can instantly spot a winner, whether it’s The Fifth Element, Lord of the Rings, Edge of Tomorrow, The Matrix, GOT or 12 Monkeys. I’ve seen ALL the classics, too many to mention here.
So what is the “formula”?
It grabs you and you have to see more! The plot and characters are compelling, there are some delightful surprises, it feels real… and so on.
A classy production all round
I agree that some of the lesser acting isn’t that great… and that it’s unlikely that a MASTER of the sword would be so ridiculously young… but overall the series so far is intriguing, watchable and has a lot of emotion . The “prophecy” element is delightful and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
