The storyline tells about a couple who recently became parents and learn to work together. One day, the husband stays at home alone to take care of his newborn, while the wife leaves and returns home with guests for dinner. The husband gets into an accident, and the night takes a dramatic turn for the worse. This film is directed by Kaye Casas (Asylum: Twisted Horror and Fantasy Tales) and stars David Pareja (Amigo), Estefania de los Santos (Unit 7), Claudia Riera (Black Snow) and Josep Maria Riera (Asylum: Twisted Horror and Fantasy Tales). . The premise of this movie is wild and exciting. Events unfold rapidly, and you cringe throughout the film, wondering how anyone could have coped with such a situation. The acting is excellent, perfectly conveying the predicament. The setting and atmosphere are tense and exciting, with a constant sense of the “elephant in the room” known only to one character and the audience. When the revelation happens, it’s stunning. In conclusion, The Coffee Table is a unique horror/thriller that is well written and even better performed. This is a slow but brilliant, tragic journey. I would rate it 8/10 and highly recommend it.
