When maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry finds her livelihood under attack from greedy competitors who were once her friends, she hatches a plan to get revenge and shake up the entire industry. She is loosely based on the 2011-2012 theft of $18 million worth of maple syrup from a storage facility in Quebec; five people were sentenced to prison. I refused to watch this due to the lack of common sense in most TV shows these days. But I’m glad I gave it a try. It’s 30-minute episodes that are silly, cheesy, funny, dramatic, and engaging. Likeable characters and light entertainment. I’ve watched all 6 episodes and can’t wait for season 2. Some cliffhangers to nicely end the series. I recommend watching it and it’s a perfect shot that fits perfectly into the half-hour show. Any more and it would be a stretch. The French soundtrack is captivating too.
